Biography Calvin is the Director & General Manager, Property Management of Nan Fung Group. He leads a workforce of more than 1,800 employees in driving strategic development and operational excellence of the projects under his portfolio. With his extensive experience of almost 30 years in the industry, Calvin has demonstrated a strong track record of success across landmark projects covering high-end residential, flagship mixed-use complex and conservation properties. Prior to his appointment at Nan Fung Group, he worked in several leading real estate conglomerates. Calvin is also a passionate advocate for sustainability in the property and facility management industry. Recognizing the importance of responsible environmental practices, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives to promote sustainability across the property and asset portfolio. Under his leadership, Nan Fung Property Management is the first in the local property and facility management industry to publish the corporate sustainability report according to the Global Reporting Initiative Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards). Calvin obtained his first bachelor’s degree from The University of Hong Kong and further acquired his second degree in Housing Studies from City University of Hong Kong. He is a Chartered Surveyor of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in the sector of Facilities Management and have been serving as a seasoned assessor of the panel for those requiring assessment of professional competence in the pathway. He has been the Council Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Housing since 2020 and acted as Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Publication Committee for a number of years in the Council. Calvin is also a Registered Professional Housing Manager (RPHM) and a Property Management Practitioner (Tier 1). He served the Government in the capacity of a Committee Member of Area Committee of the District Board back in 2006-08 and 2010-12. Abstract With an increasing emphasis on advocating sustainability, property and facility management personnel play a pivotal role in implementing green practices that optimize efficiency and minimize the environmental impact of properties. By showcasing the flagship project in Kai Tak, AIRSIDE, the function of property and facility management and its importance in further extending the sustainable development of properties are illustrated. From optimizing energy and water usage to implementing recycling and waste management programs, we will address various aspects that contribute to both environmental and social benefits. In addition, we also showcase innovation and technology that can be integrated into property and facility management to enhance sustainability efforts.
